Our Approach

Your hosts are Debbie and Mike. The Coach House is owned by us and is next door to our house. We furnish, maintain it ourselves, and we have professional cleaners who service the cottage before every stay. Although the property is well maintained, of course unexpected things can happen. We are usually on hand to immediately fix any minor issues that may arise. We take pride in providing good quality accommodation with friendly service.

Location and History

The Coach House is a converted and modernised farm building, part of the Lower Thurston old farmstead, originally built (we believe) in 1804.

Apart from the adjacent main farmhouse (where your hosts live), there are no near neighbours.

There is little traffic noise (apart from the occasional tractor), as we are away from any public roads, leaving only the sounds of birdsong, the breeze in the trees, and the distant bleating of sheep and lambs.

Local wildlife includes bats, owls, buzzards, kites, woodpeckers, hedgehogs, foxes, badgers and dragonflies. Mallard ducks and herons visit our pond and stream.
